This page reserved for The Under shot waterwheel
and The Bucket Water Lifting waterwheel.

As of this time we have not built a Bucket water lifting waterwheel. The principle result for this waterwheel is the ability to lift water from the stream below that is turning the waterwheel using the speed of the current. As the wheel turns, small buckets (fixed to the side of the waterwheel) dip into the water and are lifted to a height where the opening of the bucket is at a point to dump its contents into a chute. The cycle is continuous.

The Undershot Waterwheel is fed water to the lower buckets usually at pressure to turn the waterwheel
Another similar type of waterwheel uses the movement of a steam`s flow to turn the waterwheel which has the lower paddles in the water.
Paddle design as opposed to bucket design are different for these waterwheels.
Paddles are open and do not carry water like the traditional and more widely recognised over shot waterwheel which relies on holding onto that water as long as possible for momentum.
