These bearings are designed to be used when wet. They will run dry but the service life will be greatly reduced.

Inside these bearings there is a special coating, when wet there is very little friction resistance this allows the Waterwheel to turn very easily.

Perfect for outdoor use, no rust problems but high maintainence.

Maintainence once daily or whenever the waterwheel is turned on.
When the Waterwheel is turned on all the bearing areas will be dry, splash water over the top of the chains allowing the water to trickle down them. Also cleaning the water guide with a small piece of wire once a week is also recommended.
For domestic waterwheel use only. Not reccomended for continuous operation or in a commercial situation.

We do have an alternative bearing setup. "Sealed Bearings"

These bearings have more cost initially than the Wet Bearings but have a once a year simple maintainence proceedure, rather than daily as the Wet Bearings need.
Bearing life is greatly extended (20 years plus) can be used for continuous operation and commercial use.
